Back to School! For...everyone??

It's that time again. Back to school. Sienna is in SK this year, and excited doesn't even begin to explain how she feels about it. She's basically been counting down since July. Zoey and I aren't as keen on the idea. I'm going to miss our spontaneous, carefree days and our late night movie dates. Swimming all day and then passing out on the couch after the sun has gone down sounds like perfection to me. But, we're back to routine, early bedtimes and instead of late night slumber parties, it's late night lunch making. Ah well. It was more than fun while it lasted.

First day back.

The second photo is a little more representative of Zo's opinion on the whole thing. She was less than thrilled she wasn't allowed on the bus and the tears were flowing for the entire walk home. "Sienna home?" and "I do bus too!" was the theme of the day. I'm sure it'll get a little easier. Either that or it's going to be a long 2 years before she's allowed to tag along with her big sis'.

In other, slightly related news, I just found out that I've been accepted into the nursing program here at Conestoga College. I'm really excited and super nervous about the January start date. Even though the application process has been going on for months, it all seems to have happened so fast. Big changes around the Hart household in 2013, but we're all up for the challenge!

Now, since I apparently only do one blog post a summer, here is the rest of ours in pictures :)

Sienna's "marrying dress." A gift from Grandma and Grandpa Hart. She's obsessed. You'll be seeing way too much of this outfit in these pictures.

Another summer obsession

American Idol for Mom's birthday! Wahooooo!

Now, I must admit, considering I hadn't seen one episode and had no idea who anyone was, I thoroughly enjoyed this concert! Especially when Phillip Phillips (yes that is his real name for all you non American Idolers out there) sang Usher's "Nice and Slow" and someone threw a bra on stage. Uhm...ya.

I am actually really sad to say goodbye to the time off. It's easily been the best summer we've ever had. Jam packed with so much fun, yet calm enough to feel like it was relaxing. It's nice to be back into a semi routine. Sienna certainly loves being back. Even after days she really should be tired she's happy as can be. But I'm (not so) secretly looking forward to Christmas break.

Kindergartner Thought of the Day:

Sienna, Zoey and I were laying in bed chatting one evening and Sienna asked me to get up and grab a toy from her she dropped.

"Can you just PLEASE get it for me Mom?"

"Um, no," (half laughing), "you're just as capable of getting up and getting it!"

"Fine!"

(eye roll)

"..............Boss...."

Kindergartner/Toddler(/Mama) Conversation of the Day:

S: "Earlier today I was telling Zoey how I loved her so much and I'll always be her sister and always be with her."

(whispers to me) "But dont mention that I'll be traveling around the world ok?"

Me: "Traveling around the world? What are you going to do?"

S: "Help people. Im going to be an artist doctor vet and help everyone."

Me: "Well that sounds really great!"

S: "Ya. You want to come? Then we can travel the whole world together."

Me: "Let's do it."

S: "Maybe Zo can come. Sweets? You want to come? You can be our ice cream maker!"

Z: "Ok! I do!"
